On Saturday we headed out for a FUN ADVENTURE to the Citadel. The Citadel is 1 of the most historic places in Haiti and the history is fascinating. It is incredible to think that it was hand build. It is located 9 miles up a mountain and it is massive. You should look up the history if you have time. We rode donkey's up the mountain, toured the citadel, got a private tour due to 1 of the seminary students father being head of security and learned alot of history. On the way down we stopped at the Palace and then at the most famous historical hotel for drinks and desert.
JOURNEY UP TO THE CITADEL
we all rode a donkey up and it was quite the adventure
Then we got a private tour of the CITADEL
At the bottom of the hill to the Citadel is the Old French Palace. We were able to tour this as well
We ended this very educational day learning alot of Haiti history by heading to a famous Hotel that has tons of history as well. It has a Resturant that we got drinks and desserts.
Sunday the church team was blessed to go with Matt and Stacey to experience a Haitian worship service. Everyone said they enjoyed it. I stayed back and enjoyed an entire day of quiet time with the Lord and REST after a crazy busy few weeks. The team went straight to the airport from church and the Ayers started a long drive to their Staff Retreat in the DR.
