As I draw near I offer my life to my Jesus
Who fills me with mercy and grace
As I go out I will open my eyes and awaken You will be a blessing through me You’re the overflow
The sustainer of my soul
Pouring out of me
Living water for the weary
Bless me so I might be a blessing
Heal me so I might bring healing
Cover me, so that I might be a covering

Training Nationals 2014
Developing a sustainable therapy program in Haiti requires training nationals. This is a passion of mine and I am blessed to partner with 3 organizations that are making this happen
Made Known is passionate about educating nationals. We desire for our programs to be nationally run because we realize that those who are serving within their own country have a better understanding of their culture than we ever will. Mission: To equip nationals with the knowledge and education needed to provide quality care and support for children with special needs around the world. Why: Schooling related to disability care is limited and receiving a quality education is often unattainable, preventing ambitious men and women around the world from receiving the training needed to provide quality care and support for children with special needs.
Northwest Haiti Christian Mission provides a great fieldwork placement opportunity for hands on training for Rehab Tech, OT, & PT students at the Miriam Center. The Miriam Center has a home with 38 children with disabilities, a community outreach program that works with 70+ families with children with disabilities empowering & training their families. They also have a special education school with 3 different classrooms.
Loma Linda/UNAH Rehab Tech Program has partnered with NWHCM to send their students to the Miriam Center for fieldwork under the supervision of Autumn Marshall an OT who serves at NWHCM and with MADE KNOWN. The Rehab Tech Program provides 18 month training in OT and PT and all students complete 3 three month internships under a therapist in Haiti.
I am a 29 year old pediatric occupational Therapist. I felt the call to mission when I was 12. The past 9 years God has called me to Haiti working at Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (www.nwhcm.org) & now through Commission To Every Nation as well (www.cten.org). I am currently the Therapy Coordinator for the Miriam Center which is home to 36 children with special needs & a multifaceted outreach center that serves over 250 families with special needs children. I am working to make the Invisible...Visible through Christ, Community, Church. God is moving in BIG ways in Haiti. I wanted a place to share the ministry God has allowed me to be apart of. I moved to Haiti full-time in February 2013 & I am living out the dream & call God has given me. This blog is to record this ministry. I pray that this blog is a testimony to God and his work. If you would like to donate towards my ministry or read my full biography you can go to www.cten.org/autumnmarshall/. All the work I do is through donations.
