With the new outreach program instead of ALL the outreach kids getting a fun activity 1x a month it is now broken down into 4 groups. 1 group gets a fun outing per month and thus 4 fun outings per year. The first 4 months of outings were BEACH TRIP FUN. All the families had such a good time enjoying a fun day at the beach with their children. For some of the kids it was their first time at the beach. The Miriam Center staff helped to take each one swimming in the water. After water fun they got to enjoy a lunch and a message of encouragement. We strongly believe that it is important and very valuable to provide time for the families to have fun with their kids... provide opportunities for bonding that they otherwise would never get. In Haiti everyday life is hard...$ is tight...the burden for providing for their families everyday needs is always on their minds. These fun activities may be the only times they get to have fun and take their minds off of life for a few hours. As you can see from the pictures below EVERYONE had fun!

This trip we added sand play fun for a little extra sensory input! The parents may have looked at us like we were crazy at first but in the end some of them came and joined and helped their kids fun. .We made little sand castles.
