SUGAR COOKIE MAKING FUN!!!!

While Brooke (a Occupational Therapy Assistant Student) was at the Miriam Center completing her level 2 fieldworks under my supervision we planned a FUN activity to do with ALL the kids at the Miriam Center from the Severe & Profound preschool to the higher functioning kids. We made sugar cookies over a 2 days span.  Each child also worked on hand washing with soap and water. I/m not going to lie some of the kids thought washing their hands was more fun than cookies making :-)

All the kids had a BLAST helping to measure ingredients...stirring...using rolling pins to roll the dough out...getting to choose what shapes of cookies they wanted to just playing with the dough or sneaking a bite of the cookie dough.  Their favorite of course was eating the cookies when they were done and sharing them with the Mom's and even took some down to the Gran Moun and shared!
