Miriam Center Visiting Therapy Team

The Miriam Center was super blessed to have Edie & Caitlin Ezell to lead a therapy church team down to the Miriam Center. They spent an entire week pouring love into the kids and also helping me to update all the children's treatment plans and goals and to make new folders for all 35 kids. It was an extremely busy BUT AWSOME Week. They also blessed the therapy program with A TON of new therapy supplies including games, toys, Foot Orthosis, Shoes, socks, etc.

ICE CREAM ADVENTURE WITH MIRIAM HOME KIDS

On Saturday afternoon the group took some of the Miriam Center kids on a fun outing to go get ice cream. We took kids that don't usually get outside the mission as most are in wheelchairs. We had a BLAST!
Mary Julie road the her "Moto" to the restaurant. Everyone else had a friend help push their wheelchair

The view from the Restaurant is pretty breath taking

Everyone make your ice cream face!!!!

THERAPY WITH THE MIRIAM HOME KIDS
Each of the kids received Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT) during the week. After their treatment session an updated treatment plan for both OT and PT was written then translated to creole so that the Haitian Therapy Staff will be able to follow along with the treatment plans in the months to come.

SENSORY SCHOOL FUN
1 Morning the therapy team spent the morning in Sensory School. Everyone had a blast. We helped the kids get lots of sensory input through swinging, the bike, scooter board, trampoline, etc. Afterwards we helped the complete fine motor, visual-motor, visual-perceptual and hand strengthening activities at the table. We were having so much fun we forgot to stop in time for them to watch a movie.

Natalie learning to jump on the trampoline! I think it is safe to say she loved it!

FUN OUTREACH OUTING
Believe it or not life has been so crazy busy the last few weeks that I totally forgot about an outreach fun outing 1 Friday. Thankfully only 2 of the 40 families remembered and showed up. We quickly formulated a plan to bless them with a lunch out at the restaurant. It turned into an AWSOME time and opportunity to get to know 2 of the new outreach families more intimately and to pour into them. After we all ate way to much food. Edie and Caitlin shared a short Bible study to encourage the families and then we prayed for each of them.

OUTREACH HOMEVISIT'S

We went on 3 homevisisti their last day at the Miriam Center. Due to a lot of rain we were not able to go to PdP as was planned and do an entire day of home visits. We were thankful that the rain stopped and we could walk to a few families that lived close to the mission. I love seeing how excited each of the children are when we come to visit. It truly makes their day maybe even week! Each home we spent some time playing with the kids. Then had a time of devotions and prayer with each of the parents to provide encouragement.

 GRAN MOUN THERAPY TIME....
2 different mornings during the week the team spent the morning in the Gran Moun. Both days they started out with morning Exercise which turned into dance parties both days!!! It was so much FUN!
The first day after morning exercise they gave each of the Gran Moun lotion massages. The second day they completed a craft project with them. I would love to get to the point where I have enough therapy staff that every morning the Gran Moun could start their days with a morning exercise routine to get them up and moving.

OUR AWSOME TEAM FOR THE WEEK
